When Net-a-Porter talks, we listen, Especially when it comes to the new designers and brands we should keep our eyes on. Over the past few seasons, thanks to Net-a-Porter’s fashion director Lisa Aiken, we’ve seen a huge surge in contemporary brands (read: things we can actually afford) on our favorite e-tailer’s lineup. Yes, we adore seeing that $1,000 shoe that we’ll save all year for, but it’s pretty cool we can also buy something for $130 that’s equally as chic.

Here, we sit down with Aiken as she shares six brands (she refers to them as “her babies”). She is over-the-moon to have recently joined the Net-a-Porter family. From a swimsuit line for the minimalist to a poetry-inspired jewelry brand, here are her six babies she can’t wait for you to shop.

What: Deitas?”aims to provide women with carefully edited collections of collectible, coherent and discreetly luxurious wardrobe essentials.”

Where: Sweden

Why: “It’s hard to find simplistic, modern evening wear, but Deitas does just that. The brand’s collection features a soft, yet striking color palette and interesting, yet clean silhouettes—elegant but not overdone. The brand first caught my eye at Pernille Teisbaek’s wedding last year where her whole bridal party wore champagne-colored Deitas gowns. It was absolutely stunning!”

What: “Colorful Shades for colorful people!”

Where: Originally from Stockholm, Sweden.

Why: “Chimi was another brand we found through social media,” Aiken tells us. “Their reflective lenses are very Instagram-friendly, and we love the easy shopping model of five staple shapes, each available in more than 10 incredible colors ways. To top it off, they have a great price point with most styles retailing for $100. Chimi’s slogan is “One Pair is Not Enough,” and I completely agree!”

Silvia Tcherassi

What: Ready to wear and accessories with big proportions

Where: Silvia Tcherassi is a Miami-based, fashion designer, born in Barranquilla, Colombia

Why: “Silvia Tcherassi hails from Colombia, and there is a clear sense of style that originated there and still influences her collections today,” says Aiken. “Silvia’s SS18 collection is optimistic, full of ruffles, gingham patterns and summer colorways, you get a sense of happiness by just looking at it. We’re thrilled to bring such a celebrated Latin American designer to a global audience.”

What: Alighieri is a collection of jewellery inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’; each piece corresponds to one of the poet’s 100 poems.

Where: Based in London

Why: “I love Alighieri’s designs; it feels like a direct reaction to the popular architectural jewelry we’ve seen in recent years. Each piece?of jewelry is handmade and organic in shape, perfectly imperfect. The color of metal is also divine. The collection (and the brand name) is inspired by Dante’s “Divine Comedy,” with each piece corresponding to one of the poet’s 100 poems, so there is a great backstory to the collection, as well.”

What: The subtle swimwear line.

Where:?Matteau?swimsuits are designed between New York and Sydney and made in Australia.

Why: “We love Matteau as it is a swimwear line that appeals to the minimalist woman. Their designs embrace clean lines, and flattering pieces such as the high-waist brief and square-neck one-piece that complement many different figures. Matteau’s color palette is also incredibly chic, encompassing of a great array of neutrals, and muted shades of burgundy and mustard yellow. As an Aussie brand, they just know how to do swimwear really well.”

By Far

What: The designers strive to answer the question, “What do we want to wear every day?”

Where: Designed in Australia and handmade in Bulgaria.

Why: “We came across By Far on Instagram, surprisingly. We saw so many girls wearing these amazing ’90s-inspired shapes, and it led us back to this wonderful Bulgarian brand. Their designs are unique–we love the low heel and square toes–but they are also easy to wear, everyday shoes. It just wasn’t something we were seeing, and turned out to be perfect timing.”
